Monthly cost checks for independent UK dental practices. A practice sends its bills and gets one page back.

code

Dental practices pay a lot of bills every month. Card fees, lab work, materials, energy, service contracts, software. Nobody checks if those bills are fair, if they went up, or when they renew.

The page a practice gets back answers four things:

  1. What changed since last month.
  2. Which bills look too high, and by how much a year. These are estimates. The page says so.
  3. What renews in the next 90 days.
  4. What to ask each supplier for.

Practices don’t log in. They send bills and get the page by email.

How it works

  1. Read. AI turns a PDF bill into numbers.
  2. Check. Plain code does all the maths: effective rate, charged vs agreed, duplicates, extra fees, renewals.
  3. Write. AI writes the page using only the checked numbers.
  4. Approve. I read every page before it goes out.

The model reads the bill and writes the page. It doesn’t do any of the maths.

Next: a real AI reader, real dated prices instead of the assumed price table, then a one-page site on its own domain.

What I don’t know yet

Whether practice owners will send their bills at all. The test is a free public offer.

How much a practice can save. The only evidence so far is vendor claims and my own rough sizing, a few thousand pounds a year, maybe up to £15k. I don’t trust that number yet.

What I’m tracking

Minutes I spend reviewing each report, every week. If that number goes down while quality holds, the AI is doing more of the work.
